Week 6
For me, this week was extremely stressful so it was nice to have a class that was more relaxed. I enjoyed on Tuesday being able to make food art. At first, it seemed a little silly to me that we were supposed to make some piece of artwork out of food, but after participating in it, I understand how this can be helpful in the classroom. Incorporating this into the curriculum can help students cognitively as it allows them to be creative and figure out how to make something out of a few items. It can help them emotionally as they can create something that has a meaning to them or simply something that helps them express themselves. Lastly, it can help them physically as it allows them to work with their hands in a hands-on activity. This activity could be incorporated into different subjects as you can make fruit become different shapes, represent different objects, or even make numbers or letters out of fruit. I made a house with my fruit and honestly to me it didn’t have much meaning. It was the first idea that popped into my head and since there were bear cookies I created a home for the bear. On Wednesday, I went to the art exhibition. I enjoyed being able to look at the unique artwork. I attached a picture of the artwork that I liked the most. I thought this piece of art was very pretty and it was cool how whenever you looked at it from different angles it looked different. I think this artwork represents the changing of seasons since the tree had leaves from one angle, and no leaves at another angle. I think the artist maybe wanted to represent not only how the seasons change, but maybe also how life changes as we get older.
I really liked the picture with the changing leaves too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that this class was fun and relaxing to destress! I loved the changing tree picture as well!
ReplyDeleteI really like your thoughts about how you can incorporate art into the food activity, and I love the picture of your bear in his little house.
